Got a cold? Feeling cold? This Autumn season makes me feel the need for something warming like Ginger – not just the root in my tea, but using the oil too (not in my tea).
Uses and benefits:
- Respiratory – this warming oil is really good to help ease the body through coughs and colds. It can help soothe a sore throat, ease congestion and catarrah and will help to dry out excess mucus. I like to add a few drops to the diffuser (along with a couple of drops of lemon) and enjoy the wonderful warming aroma which will help you to breathe more easily.
- Stomach – indicated to help soothe an upset stomach, nausea, diarrhoea, travel sickness and possibly even a hang over! Inhale direct from the bottle, or dilute to 2% in a carrier oil and apply to the stomach area.
- Muscular – the warmth it generates can help muscles to relax which may help soothe arthritis, rheumatism, sprains and strains. Dilute to 2% in a carrier oil and massage into the effected area.
- Mental – warming ginger can help reduce mental fatigue and nervous exhaustion. It may also be good for the memory. Diffuse a few drops for half an hour or inhale directly from the bottle.
